The purpose of the scholarship is to recognize and help support the university as a driving force through activities that complement the learning experience and help to make sense of higher education in a broader framework.
The scholarship is intended to recognize students and support their continued volunteer activities, and does not require or expect further cooperation between the student and the foundation, does not tie the student to one specific company, and does not limit the student’s achievements to traditional academic success.
As a result of the scholarship, it is hoped to raise awareness of the School of Engineering and the field of engineering, increase the number of students and graduates studying engineering, reduce dropout rates, and most importantly, support and recognize students who voluntarily contribute to activities that help achieve the aforementioned goals.
Those working as engineers know that engineering is not – as it may appear from stereotypes – only technical work and the use of theoretical knowledge to create and implement technology. A significant part of an engineer’s day-to-day is collaboration with external parties and managing teams and production chains. The University of Technology provides graduates with a strong technical-theoretical body of knowledge, but student activism helps develop the ability to manage relationships between different interest groups and team members in order to realize a common goal.
During the semester, at least one student will be recognized with a scholarship in the amount of 1500 EUR. If the goal is exceeded, one or, if possible, more students will be recognized in the semester, or the amount will be kept for future scholarship rounds. Everyone who cares about the sustainability of student life and its added value to education and who believes that all members of our society will benefit from the talented students who have graduated from Tallinn University of Technology become top engineers.
Supporters in the donation portal can choose whether their names will be published in the list of supporters in the donation portal. People or companies who have supported 500 or more euros will be mentioned separately by name, if desired, also on the additional framed diploma prepared by us and among the previously supported scholarships in the donation portal.
