Important Information for Supporters

We operate thanks to long-standing supporters and partners who contribute to student development through scholarships and support the university and science through both meaningful collaboration and financial donations — for example, to help develop infrastructure. We continuously involve stakeholders and advisors from various fields and organizations in our initiatives.

Tallinn University of Technology recognizes all supporters of the university and its students according to the  Statute of Recognition of Supporters. An annual summary is compiled university-wide during the first half of the new calendar year. All those officially designated as supporters under the statute are invited to a yearly thank-you event (watch the video), where supporter titles are awarded. In addition, all supporters receive a virtual supporter badge they are welcome to use.

Development Fund scholarship ceremony 2024 autumn

The Development Fund of Tallinn University of Technology (SA Tallinna Tehnikaülikooli Arengufond) is listed among non-profit organizations and foundations eligible for income tax incentives. This means that donors can claim a tax refund on their contributions. The foundation forwards donation data to the Estonian Tax and Customs Board, and the information is automatically included in the donor’s pre-filled tax return. When submitting your tax return, you can choose whether to receive a refund, make an additional payment to the state, or donate the amount to charity. Donations made to the Development Fund are eligible for tax deductions and will also be included in the next year’s tax return.

If you wish to support the activities and goals of the Development Fund, you can do so by making a donation to the foundation’s bank accounts. If you want to contribute to a specific scholarship fund and support students in that field, please choose a suitable fund from the list of scholarship funds and make a one-time donation or set up a recurring donation.

For the Tallinn University of Technology project or structural unit collecting donations

Tallinn University of Technology’s donation environment was created in 2023 to promote a culture of donations in Estonia. In the donation environment, it is possible to initiate projects that help fulfill or reach the goals of the university’s development plan. Such initiatives may include, among others, projects aimed at acquiring infrastructure for educational development, growing scholarship funds for students, supporting cultural groups and their activities, as well as backing student organizations’ initiatives.

The university conducts project collections 2-3 times per calendar year. All projects are reviewed by the evaluation committee, which consists of representatives of the rectorate, the strategy office and the Development Fund office. The evaluation committee reviews the received projects, and those that support the implementation of the action plan of the university’s development plan will have the opportunity to collect grants through the donation environment. The donation environment offers marketing and communication support for project information dissemination. All financial costs are from the project budget. All steps and costs are agreed in advance with the person in charge of the project.
