Support engineering students’ education and engagement!

The purpose of the scholarship is to recognize and support students who, in addition to their important academic work, also contribute more broadly to the functioning of the university. The scholarship is intended for students who help advance the university as a driving force, look at the world with a broad perspective, and bring fresh ideas with them—ideas that, in turn, foster institutional development. The aim is also to support the continued voluntary activities of these exceptionally outstanding students and to facilitate the successful completion of their studies.

The fund does not tie the student to any specific company, does not require cooperation agreements, and does not limit the student’s achievements to traditional academic success.

As a result of the scholarship, it is hoped that awareness of engineering will increase, more students will choose to study in the School of Engineering and successfully graduate, and dropout rates will decline. In the long term, the scholarship supports the growth of the engineering profession in Estonia. Most importantly, it recognizes and supports active students who voluntarily contribute to achieving these goals.

Awarding the Scholarship

Scholarships are awarded once a year, in the spring, as part of the TalTech Development Fund’s annual scholarship competition for outstanding students. The first scholarships were awarded in spring 2024. Eligibility criteria are outlined in the official statute.

A minimum of one student will be awarded a scholarship of €1500. If the financial target is exceeded, one or more students will be awarded in the spring semester, depending on available funding. Any unused funds will be carried over to future scholarship rounds. Everyone who values the sustainability of student life and its added value to education is welcome to contribute. Supporting talented students at Tallinn University of Technology means contributing to the development of top engineers — professionals who will benefit not only the field of engineering but also society at large.

Supporters of the Donation Portal can choose whether their names are published in the list of supporters online. Individuals and/or companies who donate €500 or more can, if they wish, be acknowledged by name as patrons of the year in the Donation Portal, along with their logos.
